Friday Talk: What’s going on at the Museum?

We have something a bit different for this Month’s Friday talk. Have you ever scrolled through the pages on the Blandford Town Museum website and wondered what the various people and groups associated with the Museum are getting up to? If so, this is your chance to find out! (If not, please come along anyway.)

This set of short talks will feature some or all of:

• Sylvia Hixson-Andrews on the day-to-day life of a Museum director, and the work of the newly-formed Environmental Group;
• Joy Reynolds on the role of Museum Chair, and the Stour Valley Project;
• Elaine Lofthouse on the Museum Victorian Garden;
• Heather Hinsley on the Stour Valley Sampler;
• Edrys Lupprian on the Archaeology Group;
• Nicci Brown on the Civic Society;
• Anne Quinney on the Riots 1831 project;
• Clara Tavernor on stewarding and events.

Drinks and nibbles will available to buy from 7 pm, and the talks will start at 7.30 pm.
(Please note that we are not offering hot meals this year)

Admission to this talk is less than our usual price: £3 for museum members, £5 for non-members.

We have a variety of talks about our history and heritage from a range of expert speakers lined up for Spring and Autumn 2023. These will take place on Fridays (usually, but not always, the last Friday of the month) at the Parish Centre in Blandford.
