Civic Society Guided Town Walks 2024

Discover some of the history of our unique Georgian town with town guides from the Blandford Civic Society.

Heritage walks, telling the story of the town up to the Georgian rebuilding of the town centre, start from the flood wall in the Marsh & Ham car park behind Morrisons (April 14, May 12, June 16, July 14, August 11, September 8 and 15 (Dorset Architectural Heritage Week).

Perimeter walks of more recent development (April 28, May 26, June 23, July 28, August 25, September 22), and Geology walks examining the history of the stones making up the town’s architecture, (May 5, July 21, September 8/15 (TBC)) start from Greyhound House in the Market Place.

The Walks start at 11 am and last approximately two hours. There is no charge, but donations are welcome!
