Archaeology Group Lecture: Medieval Industries in Purbeck

In this month’s Archaeology Group Lecture, Derek Pitman from Bournemouth University will talk about some experimental archaeology at Wytch Farm, giving an early report on the interim results from the PLACE project. PLACE is a research project exploring productive industries in Purbeck though survey, excavation and experimental reconstruction. The presentation will cover results from the 2018 and 2019 seasons and focus on the excavations of a complex of early medieval salt production workshops.
