Archaeology Group Lecture: programme change
17 February 2022 at 7:30 pm
Blandford Parish Centre, The Tabernacle, DT11 7DW
In a change to our programme, Edrys Lupprian will be giving a talk on the early stages of her own research on The Transition from Late Neolithic to Early Bronze Age in Britain: a Biosocial Model.

Recent work on ancient genetics has shown that there was a genetic replacement of the Neolithic genome of Britain by an incoming Beaker people from Europe around 2400BC. What does this actually mean and how might this replacement have taken place? We will look at what social transformation means and why the Beaker culture appeared to replace the Neolithic culture alongside the genetic replacement.
